Advertising a Forum

Well I recently sat down with someone that I call “mentor.” He was willing to shed some light for me on how to advertise a forum. It started with me asking him how and he gave me steps on how to go about it.

Here are his words exactly

“1. Effective forums are never started by one man, they are started in groups. With your core userbase, peruse forums for communication for at least one hundred posts

2. With this core content gained, make a bait. Contest, revenue share, some giveaway (giveaways are the best ones)

3. Send9. With PR gained, participate in intricate link exchanges (quadri-, quinti- and sextilateral ones).
message about this bait to bloggers in SEO, webmaster, ‘make money online’ etc niches. The more the better. Hundreds of bloggers are the best.

4. Some of they write about you. Enjoy the links and traffic.

5. Digg, reddit, delicious, stumble, etc, etc, page with the bait.

6. Enjoy more links and more traffic

7. Make directory submissions. Gain link muscle.

8. Wait for the PR update, building occasional links, building content on the forums, and perhaps doing several more baits.

9. With PR gained, participate in intricate link exchanges (quadri-, quinti- and sextilateral ones).

10. Continue with baits and build forum content from now on.

11. Profit!”

That really helped me out. As simple as it is It gave me something to work with.
