Well I recently sat down with someone that I call “mentor.” He was willing to shed some light for me on how to advertise a forum. It started with me asking him how and he gave me steps on how to go about it.

Here are his words exactly

“1. Effective forums are never started by one man, they are started in groups. With your core userbase, peruse forums for communication for at least one hundred posts

2. With this core content gained, make a bait. Contest, revenue share, some giveaway (giveaways are the best ones)

3. Send9. With PR gained, participate in intricate link exchanges (quadri-, quinti- and sextilateral ones).
message about this bait to bloggers in SEO, webmaster, ‘make money online’ etc niches. The more the better. Hundreds of bloggers are the best.

4. Some of they write about you. Enjoy the links and traffic.

5. Digg, reddit, delicious, stumble, etc, etc, page with the bait.

6. Enjoy more links and more traffic

7. Make directory submissions. Gain link muscle.

8. Wait for the PR update, building occasional links, building content on the forums, and perhaps doing several more baits.

9. With PR gained, participate in intricate link exchanges (quadri-, quinti- and sextilateral ones).

10. Continue with baits and build forum content from now on.

11. Profit!”

That really helped me out. As simple as it is It gave me something to work with.

Today I wanted to talk to you about advertising on Youtube. What this essentially is, is making a video for your site. Then placing it on Youtube. Usually works very well.

I had wondered if I should be doing this later for Little Rich Boy so I wanted to look into it ahead of time. For info I checked out some articles on Digg, Googled: advertising on Youtube, and looked strait at the source, Youtube .

What I found out in when I googled it is that many upon many sites are fallowing the trend of advertising on youtube. When you look around for videos on youtube you will usually find that many of these videos start off by having the website URL at the bottom. I would say that about 80% off all the videos on youtube are there mainly to promote ones website.

Now begins the question: what do Youtube viewers get pulled towards viewing and inevitably view the website that they video had on it. The answer varies depending on the targeted viewers that will be viewing your site. When you have them in mind you can proceed to the next step. Engaging them to watch your video. What you need first is a good high quality video that will give people just a taste of what you have at your site. That is a pretty basic technique when advertising. Then all you have to do is create a fair description of the video and load the video up with as many relevant tags as possible to make sure people will be viewing you video from day one. If you do this with enough videos people will be swarming to your site every day!

When I was looking around online I happened upon a website that pays you for visiting other peoples websites. What this is called is a PTC (pay to click) based website.
I wanted to learn is a little about PTC websites so I Googled it.

What I learned is that their were literally hundreds of PTC websites. What I initially thought is their has to be something, anything, behind this. Again when I had a question, so I Googled it!

This time I really did not find anything out. Anything really meaning anything besides what I read on the PTC sites themselves. So I decided to do my own research.

What I learned were the following. Paid advertisers have paid for their sites being listed. I looked at the prices for advertising and it was remarkably cheap. Though I thought ‘what is with this price’. It can’t be right to sell advertising like this for such a cheap amount. While I wondered I went on to try going through the PTC process myself. I clicked on a few websites. I waited on the site because their is a time limit you need to pass before you get paid for that. Then I figured it out. PTC clickers were not getting paid directly and instantly. They had to pass a minimum.

I looked up the minimum for the PTC site I was on and I saw that I needed a minimum $20.00 to cash out. I checked what I had made so far. What I learned is that I had made about 4/10 of a penny for viewing 4 websites. The minimum time you had to stay at a site was 20 whole sec. In order to get to the minimum you had to get 800,000 seconds (almost 10 whole days of time) just to make $20 so literaly no one makes it to the minimum because it’s simply not worth it. This way the site makes all the money without paying anyone. This is the little scam of PTC sites.
